George Robert Young, 67, New London, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Community Howard Regional Health. George was born September 9, 1948 to Amos and Catherine Young who preceded him in death.
After graduating from Carroll High School, George began working for Delco Electronics where he retired in 1999 after 31 years.
George is survived by his wife Regina, daughter Melinda Cox, Kokomo, step-son Steve (Lynn) Richey, Peru, step-son Toby (Susie) Richey, Ft. Wayne, daughter Melissa (Clark) Walker, Greentown, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
George enjoyed being with family and friends – especially spending time with his grandchildren, wintering in Lehigh Acres, Florida with Regina, being with his dog, Punkin, and he loved fishing.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Syed Hussain and staff and nurses Patience Cottrell and Rita Dunn for the excellent care George received.
Following George’s wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life party will be held at his residence, 2366 S 750 E, New London, on Sunday, October 4th from 1 to 4pm. Anyone wishing to join us as we remember some of George’s good times are welcome.
